What is the game about:

Parametamorfose is a 2D side-scrolling game inspired by the Splatterhouse arcade and 4th generation console franchise.

Abbreviation:

Parametamorfose tells the story of a swordsmith master, unknown from another reality, who is mysteriously teleported to our dimension due to a human error in a desperate escape.

Story:

With the outbreak of World War III, several atomic bombs were launched around the globe. Chaos spread along with death and radiation, which multiplied with the destruction of nuclear plants hit by explosions.

The world became a true hell.

The arrival of the nuclear winter worsened the situation even more: crops died without sunlight, animals succumbed to hunger due to the lack of vegetation, buildings collapsed due to the rotting contaminated soil — which, over time, was swallowed by a deformed, mutant nature, trying to adapt to the new reality.

But before the war, when the world still breathed, everything started with a sound.

In 1977, astronomers captured a mysterious signal from deep space — a powerful frequency spike that lasted 72 seconds and became known as the WOW Signal. Though forgotten over time, the signal drew attention again in the mid-21st century when new scans detected similar echoes from other parts of the universe — but only for fractions of a second, as if they were windows opening and closing.

Scientists spent decades trying to decode it, until in 2043 they managed to locate one of these echoes coming from a fixed point in space. All countries joined in a search mission that was dubbed MILRW (Mission of Investigation, Location, and Collection of WOW Material).

The mission was to be carried out by a remote satellite carrying two autonomous space search robots, controlled by artificial intelligence to collect space material. The satellite was named NUPC (United Nations, One Purpose in Common) — and what they found would change the course of humanity: a fragment of unknown matter, whose frequency resonated exactly with the original WOW Signal.

The fragment resembled a black opal that behaved like a heart beating slowly, as if in slow motion. The stone was collected along with other debris that seemed to be attracted to it.

It was from this fragment that research into teleportation began. Initially, only small animals were used in the tests. But with the advancement of quantum engineering and the use of the fragment as a dimensional conductor, it soon became possible to transport larger beings — and eventually humans — to any point on the planet, even without a physical receiver on the other side.

The most daring innovation of the machine was its ability to transport living beings to any point on the planet instantly — even without the need for a machine at the destination.

During this research, humans discovered traces of another dimension, less technologically advanced but physically similar to Earth. They called it the "Telescopic Plane", an unexplored parallel reality where time was similar to ours, but seemed to have stagnated a few hundred years ago.

But from the beginning, the interests of nations revolved around this peace and this common goal.

The world powers carried out research for their own benefit, where they would have advantages over smaller countries that did not have dust and small pieces of this cosmic stone. As the wreckage of the rocket fell into the Amazon Sea, the rest of the stone remained in a Brazilian facility temporarily protected by the army in Rio de Janeiro.

With the promise not to touch the stone without notifying other countries, everything was in vain. External conflicts between nations began, and each nation kept an eye on what the others were doing.

Conflicts and arguments occurred until the worst happened.

In the final stretch of civilization, with the world already devastated and almost the entire population extinct, there was only one last surviving scientist left, isolated in a forgotten underground facility. In a fit of madness and despair, he activated the machine one last time — inserting random coordinates into another dimensional plane, in search of salvation.

But in the desperation that gripped his mind and bones, he misconfigured the settings, and without realizing it, the forgemaster stepped on a remote teleportation device, and instead of the machine taking him, it pulled someone from the other side.

That was how a master blacksmith from that parallel dimension—a silent warrior, a forger of swords—was sucked into a dimensional vortex and randomly thrown into our destroyed world.

His body was flung into a ruined, warped forest—a contaminated place, covered in ash and radiation. The impact left him confused and dazed, and the dimensional energy that had brought him there still burned in his skin and his sword.

The blacksmith now walks, not understanding where he is... or why he was brought here.
